CODE OF ETHICS

The Engineering Council’s Code of Ethics serves as the moral foundation for our profession, ensuring engineers uphold integrity, safety, and accountability in all their work. These ethical standards protect public welfare, guide professional conduct, and maintain trust in engineering solutions that shape our infrastructure and daily lives. By committing to this Code, practitioners demonstrate their dedication to excellence and social responsibility.

For the Engineering Council, this document is both a framework and a promise – establishing clear expectations while preserving the dignity of our profession. It aligns with national regulations and global best practices, positioning Ghana’s engineers as ethical leaders in technological development. Every registered professional is called to embrace these principles as essential to their practice.

Engineering Council Code of Ethics

This Code of Ethics establishes the fundamental principles of professional conduct for all registered engineers and engineering firms under the Engineering Council. It serves to:

  • Define ethical standards that prioritize public safety, integrity, and competence

  • Guide professional behavior in engineering practice

  • Maintain public trust in the engineering profession

  • Align with the Engineering Council Act 819 and supporting regulations

The Code reflects our commitment to excellence, accountability, and sustainable development through ethical engineering practice. All practitioners are expected to uphold these standards as part of their professional responsibility.
