Ing. Isaac Bedu

Profile of Registrar

Ing. Isaac Bedu has served as the Registrar of the Engineering Council since September 2023, being the second to hold the position. He joined the Council from the Volta River Authority (VRA) where he served as Manager (Project Management).

He started his career at Associated Consultants in 1995 and joined the VRA in 1996. With over 25 years of experience in project management and implementation of various projects within the energy and other sectors, he has been engaged mostly in the procurement, contract negotiations, management, and implementation of various capital projects, of values ranging up to US$ 412 million. As a Project Management Personnel, he has been involved in the implementation of the 6.5MW Lawra and 13MW Kaleo Solar Power Project, the rehabilitation of the Akosombo and Akuse Hydro Dams, the Retrofit of the Kpong Generation Station, the development of Thermal Power Plants, High/Medium Voltage Transmission Lines and Substations, Low Voltage Distribution projects and Corporate Institutional Office/Housing Projects.

Ing. Bedu has participated as a panel speaker in several international conferences. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 1994, holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Project Management) from the Ghana Institute of Public Administration (GIMPA) and a Master of Arts Degree in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Ghana School of Law, Legon.

He is a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhlE) and served on the Governing Council for 12 years (2008 to 2020) as Branch 3 Chairperson. He is also a member of the International Academy of Project Management.

Since 2017, he has been serving as a Member of the Ministerial Advisory Board for the Ministry of Works and Housing as well as a member of the Regional Tender Review Committee of the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council.

Ing. Bedu is married with two children.
