Ing. Samuel Magnus Asiedu is a distinguished Mechanical Engineer with over 48 years of professional experience. He graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and pursued further professional training in South Korea with Samsung Air Conditioning, in Germany with Lorentz Solar Pumps and Hygienic Air-conditioning and Klimatechnik, as well as in France, China, and Belgium.
He currently serves as the Director of Impact Technologies Limited, a Service Engineering Consulting Firm. His career spans several countries including Germany, Nigeria, Liberia, and Ghana, where he has held various technical and leadership roles.
Ing. Asiedu has contributed to numerous feasibility studies and implementation projects across health facilities, educational institutions, commercial complexes, and office buildings. His expertise encompasses the design, specification, and successful installation of water supply and distribution systems, internal wastewater drainage systems, ventilation and air-conditioning plants, sewerage treatment and waste water disposal systems, firefighting systems, lifts and escalators, hospital equipment, industrial plants, and other building services equipment.
As a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), he has served as Vice President, National Councillor, Chairman of the Professional Practice and Ethics Committee, and Acting Executive Secretary during transitional periods. He was also nominated by GhIE to serve as an Assessor on the Mechanical Engineering Panel of the National Accreditation Board, contributing to the accreditation of the then Polytechnics, Technical Universities and Universities in 2004, 2012, 2014, and up to 2020.
Notably, Ing. Asiedu has played a pivotal role in developing procurement capacity in Ghana. He was nominated by GhIE to join a team at the Ministry of Finance to finalize key legislative frameworks under the Public Financial Management Reform, including the Financial Administration Act, 2003 (Act 654), the Internal Audit Act, 2003 (Act 658), and the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663). He was among a team of resource person in a nationwide education and awareness programmes, covering all districts in the Northern and Volta Regions. He also trained procurement practitioners and civil servants under a GIMPA programme in Greater Accra and Eastern Regions in 2007 and 2008.
Among his notable projects, Ing. Asiedu served as the Mechanical Engineer responsible for the valuation of plants, equipment, and machinery at Shai Hills Quarry for Sterling Financial Services Ltd., which included conducting technical due diligence on the entire quarry production plant. He was also a member of the MiDA Technical Evaluation Panel for irrigation projects under the Ghana Compact I. Throughout his career, Ing. Asiedu has demonstrated a deep commitment to engineering excellence, institutional development, and capacity building in procurement and public sector reform.
